During your visit

Le petit carnet de jeu

To support children aged 6 to 12 in their discovery of Outsider Art, the Collection provides free, playful and suitable materials (in french) right from the museum entrance: Le petit carnet de jeu for the permanent exhibition and Le petit livret de visite for temporary exhibitions. Thanks to a small violet pictogram present in the booklets and throughout the route, young visitors easily spot the content that is specially dedicated to them, making the visit more intuitive and fun.

La cabane

Welcome to La cabane, the brand-new educational space dedicated to ages 0-6, including puzzles, assemblies, drawings, scavenger games, etc. La cabane is innovative in that it is located in the heart of the museum (Jean Dubuffet area) and allows cohabitation of audiences. Open daily during museum hours (11 a.m.–6 p.m.), it offers the little ones the possibility to discover Art Brut at their own pace, in a gentle space. La cabane remains under the responsibility of accompanying adults. It is part of the pilot project “Penser la diversité autrement” (Rethinking diversity) carried by the City of Lausanne, affirming the desire to open the museum to the youngest and to celebrate the richness of differences from an early age.

After your visit

Enjoy the outdoor spaces around the museum:

Playground
Head east of the museum, to the Château de Beaulieu park, to discover an ideal play area to extend the visit with family.

Take advantage of your visit to refresh yourself at the Auberge de Beaulieu
In summer, also enjoy its lovely terrace for a moment of relaxation. A baby bottle warmer is at your disposal, for a welcome break with the little ones.

After your visit

Workshops and activities

View all

Art Brut speaks to children and the museum is keen to foster and encourage this dialogue. The workshops offered bring children closer to the act of creation or to a particular theme, through observation and then personal interpretation.

Workshop information

These workshops are for unaccompanied children only - parents are not admitted.
Adults accompanying them can enjoy visiting the museum independently (prices) or, depending on the date, attend a guided visit (schedule). Children and adults meet at the end of the workshop at 3:45 pm at the Museum's reception.

Each child leaves with their artwork in hand and a small snack in their stomach!

Personal loyalty card: after 3 workshops, a gift of your choice from the offered range (posters, books, etc.) is given to you. Ask the facilitator for your card.
